How to receive your wine and spirits purchases

All shipments of wine and spirits from our DC facility are only able to be picked up by our carriers on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  All shipping requests must be received two business days before each pickup date to ensure that they are processed on time. 

We offer a Temperature Controlled Ground option year-round. This shipping service ships out once a week every Friday and delivers normally 10-14 days later*.  When using this service, your bottles will be transported in a refrigerated environment to a major distribution hub near you, ensuring that your wines arrive in perfect condition in any weather. Final mile is then completed through a common carrier, typically UPS or FedEx. 

*Speed of delivery is subject to change based on the carriers current package volume and delivery zip code, contact our customer service team to receive a personalized estimated delivery date.

Spirits are only able to be shipped using the above described temperature controlled ground option.

For wine shipments we do have options for additional services beyond Ground.

Please not that any items with original wood cases, original boxing, or spirits with unusual shapes/sizes may be subject to additional shipping costs beyond what is listed. A customer service representative will contact customers directly with an updated shipping cost in these instances when applicable. Additionally, any orders exceeding 150lbs will require a special shipping quote. Please email dcinfo@benchmarkwine.com for an exact rate. 

Some state shipping laws restrict our ability to ship wine and/or spirits. If your state is not available as a shipping option during check-out, please call 202-629-2147 to discuss your options.

Holding Wine

Benchmark Wine & Spirits will hold customer orders for up to 30 days before shipping or until the next seasonally moderate shipping window. This service is provided at no charge as a courtesy for our customers. Wine held remains the property of the buyer. Customers who choose not to ship within 30 days of order during a seasonally moderate shipping window will be charged $14 per case, per month for this service until shipment of the order. Benchmark Wine & Spirits reserves the right to move wine to an alternate storage facility and/or to charge additional fees for the storage of especially large orders over long periods of time.
